My Top Pregnancy Side Effects

I only have one major side effect (besides the weight gain):

HEARTBURN

I never had heartburn until about a month ago. It's pretty bad. I wake up at night with it and the only thing that seems to help is just sitting up for a while until it goes away. I also get it a lot during the day but my new best friend gets me through: Rolaids Softchews. They are a life saver.

My Top Pregnancy Food Aversions

Seafood.

Gross.

Sometimes I can eat a tuna fish sandwich but only on white bread and only if I make it myself (with lots of mayonnaise and a little mustard). Other than that, if you mention seafood I get queasy, if I smell it I pretty much have to leave the room, and if I eat it...well, that's not an option-it doesn't make it into my mouth.

My Top 5 Pregnancy Cravings

5. Rollo's candy (this is a new craving this past week and a half)

4. Oatmeal Cream Pies

3. Sonic Blast - Reese's Peanut Butter Cup flavor

2. Any fresh fruit and 'juicy' vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers)

1. Water (I am thirsty all the time and only water helps the craving)

Baby Moves

Last night as I was trying to fall asleep I could feel the baby kicking real distinctly in three places. It first started at the lowest point of my abdomen. She was kicking (or hitting) really hard in the same place each time. I imagined her holding on to something inside me and just kicking, kicking, kicking in the exact same spot.

Then, she must have turn a little because I began to feel it on my left side. It was the same thing--kicking, kicking, kicking over and over in the exact same spot.

Then, she did a flip and the exact same thing happened on my right side.

The coolest part about it was that I had my hands laying flat on my stomach and I could feel the whole thing happening inside me and also with my hands.

I do wonder what she was doing inside there, because the kicking was so rhythmic. I guess she'll do well in her dance and gymnastic classes.

They're Starting To Notice

I went to the dentist last Friday to get my teeth cleaned. When I walked into the cleaning room the Dental Hygienist said "Are you pregnant?" with a big smile on her face. My reply was "Yes!" and I most willingly held my shirt a little tighter around the belly so she could have a better look. It was very exciting for me that a stranger can tell I am pregnant.

My sister, Lisa, asked me about a month ago if I notice people looking at my stomach. I told her that I didn't notice it, but ever since she mentioned it I notice people looking ALL the time. The good thing is that the looks seem to be going from a 'Is she pregnant, or did she just eat a big lunch today?' look to a 'Oh look, she's pregnant-how fun!' look.

I love it.
